BSG Season 2 Themes.. What are you hoping for?

OK - so most of us know what's coming for season one (and I'm not saying anything for those who don't, so relax!!), and the good news is that BSG treats the audiences like adults, and goes for the heavy plot, heavy character moments rather than the gratuitious flash/bang happy resolution style episodes.

So here is the question... Assuming season 1 is successful, what gritty themes would you like to see dealt with in Season 2?

I thought you meant music theme. I've been looking for Kodo (Japanese drums) similar to it, but without joy. If anyone wants to drop me names... :D

We're not even halfway through season 1 and season 2 is still a gleam in Ronald D. Moore's eye, but hey. I'd like to see a larger look at those people in the fleet. These are people who took off with the clothes on their backs and have lost everything. How are they faring?

What I'd like to see is even MORE conflict. I think I'd like to see Zarek return and fight the presidency, maybe placing in his own bid and dividing the fleet into two and let us follow both of them...

I'd like to see and hear more from the mechanical type cyclons. I loved the old ones. I'm probably not going to get my wish though.

I hope Galactica isn't always running away, I hope she is eventually able to take on a base star. Maybe she will eventually stock up on more powerful warheads etc. I wouldn't mind seeing EMP weapons being used against the cyclons. Some of them are machines afterall.

I would like to see new races and new planets.

I'd like to hear the following again ""Fleeing from the Cylon Tyrany, the last Battlestar, Galactica, leads a ragtag fugitive fleet on a lonely quest. A shining planet, known as Earth".

It would be great if we could see Dirk Benedict again!

I'd like to see Galactica forge an alliance with another group.

Probably want to draw the whole show out so i really dont see a counter attack happening next season sadly? Besides bet it will be something crap that kills the cyclons in the end,all of them in one go(a virus or sommit).
But next Season just more of the same will do nicely :D

Civil war amongst the Cylcons - especially if it involves evil-6 and Boomer in a muddy situation. <sorry in advance>

As far as I know they will attempt to take on a base station during season 1.. so that should keep you all happy :D

    "Attempt?" :p

As for themes, and thinking back on what I said...more Cylons! I understand they want to focus on the human side of this, but if the Cylons take second seat to the nitty-gritty of staying alive, then it'll be all the worse for Galactica.

    Keep the faith.

This show has started off with high expectations (based on the mini series) and so far I believe it has delivered. Of the 4 episodes to date, three were in the 'excellent' category and 1 was simply 'great' - by my reckoning (and most of the board members it would seem too!).

This bodes well for the future as long as one thing happens. Unfortunately we are dependant on the damn yanks having their say. If it's loved over there (which is a bit of a risk lets be honest. Yanks and reality don't always mix, especially in the new bush led world), but if it's loved - then we get a season 2. If on the other hand they cannot handle the gritty reality approach to the show - then it won't survive season 1 and the sci-fi channel will drop it for some other meaningless ****e which they can be more confident will turn a buck or two.

Let's hope it passes the season 1 test with yank audiences in 2005.

Well those yanks who've seen it so far have loved it, so here's hoping...
