I am going to buy a 6800GT in America as it is a lot cheaper than over here. I want it delivered to a person in America who will bring it back here when they come over here.
I was wondering do any American sites take an Irish credit card or is there any other way i can pay i.e. paypay or the like.

normally ebay sellers take paypal, not sure about companies though. Worth a try, paypal is probably the best way to pay.

If you have to use your credit card (and they accept an international card) they'll probably ask you to fax them a copy of your credit card back & front and a copy of your drivers license. It's become fairly standard practice now for online shops to request that from punters.

Some American sites can be incredibly narrow minded in not taking foreign credit cards. I was ordering a laptop from HP and it kept bombing out for some unknown reason (the code on the website didn't have the logic to tell me that it couldn't accept a foreign issued credit card). Eventually when I rang the customer care line, defeating the whole idea of ordering on the internet, the nice lady told me they don't accept non-US credit cards. I had similar trouble with some airline sites, whereas others accepted my card no problem. Amazon had no problem accepting my credit card, btw.

So, to answer your question, it really depends on the website. What is the site you are ordeing from, if you don't mind me asking?
