Reconditioned Digiboxes

Anyone point me in the direction of any Irish suppliers of reconditioned digiboxes. Any of the UK suppliers, once you add in the postage, only work out about €50 cheaper than a new one from a reliable online irish supplier... Following on from that, any views on the Pace Cobra digibox? Good, bad or indifferent?

My second question is do you need a phone line connection to get the sky card activated/married?

Finally, is the G1 package still available? Seems to be some confusion if it is on various other boards....

Only considering Sky/Murdoch, as my FTA reciever shows how pathetic my terrestrial reception is... A big boo to RTE for doing such a pathetic deal with sky, and not having FTV cards of some description.

What is this digibox. I heard of the latest pace which i think is the 2600 series but never heard of this one. Is it a sky+ box

I think the 2600 and cobra are one and the same if memory serves. I've sold hundreds of these and not had one fault yet, touch wood

Well I was kinda looking for an impartial opinion Tony, but thanks anyway ;)

What about the phone line for the activation? I can organise with the bro in law, but would be handier if I didn't have to mess around....

I agree with Tony, not seen a faulty Pace 2600 yet. The boxes in general are fast, and better to look at than its woeful predecessor, the 2500!

I personally would suggest spending the extra few quid on a new box. Older boxes can be slower at scrolling through channels etc.

I downgraded from the full package to the G1 about 3 weeks ago. The person in the call center had poor English but still managed to understand me asking for the full sports and the even numbered movie channels (as I forgot the package was called G1).
