    Here is my current specs;

Gigabyte GA-8KNXP revision 2.1, FJ BIOS
    Intel Pentium 4 Northwood 3.2Ghz 800MHz FSB o/c to 3.37GHz
    Corsair 2GB, TwinX PC3200XLPT @ 2-2-2-5 DDR400 @ DDR420
    Western Digital Raptor 74GB 10,000RPM 4.5ms, x2 - RAID 0 Array 128k stripe
    Leadtek 6800 Ultra 256MB GDDR3 425/1100MHz
    AOpen H700a full size tower
Plextor PX-712A 12x DVD+R, 1.05 firmware(waiting for a Plextor 716A to be re-released, not the botched crap sold at Best Buy in the US)
    Lite-On SOHD 167T 16x DVD-ROM, 9S19 firmware
Digital Doc 5+ controlling eight 80mm Vantec Stealth fans
    Thermalright SP-94
    Panasonic PanoFlo 92mm
    Arctic Silver 5
    Sony 3.5" floppy drive
Eircom Cayman Netopia 3341, latest firmware
    Microsoft Wireless Desktop Elite
    Creative I-Trigue L3450 speakers
    Creative Audigy 2 ZS
    22" Mitsubishi Diamond Pro 2070SB
Coolermaster rounded floppy and IDE cables
    Antec TruePower 550W PSU
    Microcool Northpole Northbridge cooler
    Hewlet Packard monitor cooler
    HP Deskjet 5650
Windows XP Professional - SP2 slipstreamed.

So i was thinking, what is the easiest and cost effective way to upgrade and be top of the food chain again?

Now obviously you have the soon-to-be-released nForce 4 motherboards with SLI, then you have the 952XE motherboards. But based on numerous reviews it seems the only way to go right now is AMD and the FX-55.

So keeping this in mind and not wanting to have to buy all new hardware, such as PCI Express, DDR2, PCI-E power supply etc. i think the easist way to to do something like this:

    http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProductDesc.asp?description=13-128-254&depa=0

    http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProductDesc.asp?description=19-103-492&depa=0

    http://www.sidewindercomputers.com/thxpforinp4.html

    http://www.sidewindercomputers.com/pa12mesp.html

    :D

Whatcha think?, best Socket 939 nForce 3 motherboard, FX-55, XP-120, PanaFlo 120mm.....at least this way i get to keep the majority of my current rig and be on top once again, and it should be easy to o/c the FX-55 to 2.8GHz on air with the cooling setup i've chosen.

All i have to do then is come back on Boards and sell my old motherboard/CPU/Heatsink/Fan....... ;)

It's AGP 8x, which is why i choose nForce 3 Ultra. It supports AGP and DDR memory, thus i can retain the majority of my current components.

Besides, PCI-E offers no performance increase over AGP.
