Burst has started acting weird on me. When i go to download more than one thing it comes up with "only one instance of burst may run at a time" it never used to do this. I uninstalled it and reinstalled but same problem.

    anyone got any ideas?

Well you could try another bittorent client. Bittornado is my fav....as for Burst it may be some screwed up setting that's being left behind when you uninstall. Try and delete the directory in Program Files when you uninstall it, if it's still there.

Did you check to see if an instance of burst was running in your processes?
If it is kill it and try to restart it.

You could edit the registry as a *last resort.
    Delete all the burst keys.
    Back it up first!

    As micro$oft say:

WARNING: If you use Registry Editor incorrectly, you may cause serious problems that may require you to reinstall your operating system. Microsoft cannot guarantee that you can solve problems that result from using Registry Editor incorrectly. Use Registry Editor at your own risk. To edit the registry, Microsoft recommends that you follow the steps in the Microsoft documentation only. If it is possible, use the Windows user interface instead of directly editing the registry.

Try giving Azureus a try, best Bit Torrent client out there. Bit Tornado is ok but alot of tracker ban it due to some dodgy settings you can use to not upload anything.
