Hey there, I'm ordering one of these some time this week, anyone got one or played one or know anything good bad or indifferent about them?

I've wanted a Beast for about 2 years - I love the way they look and BC Rich are amongst the best for the filthy dirty metal I want to play, so I figure **** it! I'm not deciding on looks alone, :) I wanted a BC Rich, but didn't fancy a Warlock cause they're very popular (amongst my mates anyway - 3 or 4 of them have all sorts from 7 Strings to the Mick Thomson Signature) and I wasn't as "taken" with the other guitar styles as I was with the Beast.

Well, if you've your heart set on a beast, I won't dissuade you.

I'm also assuming that because you're going for a platinum that you're not gone on the Floyd Rose bridge.

Aside from the ghastly shape, it's a BC Rich, so you'll get a quality guitar. Platinums come with Agathis bodies and maple necks. The wiring and pickups are pretty great, so you won't have to gut the thing as soon as you get it. Go for it man, seriously.

Agathis isn't the best "wood" and most Korean made BC Riches I've played haven't impressed...

Agathis sucks. If you're going to spend money, get a guitar made of wood for it. For the same low tone think about maybe a Kramer with EMG's or something.

Well, I'd say go for something like THIS mother of a beast here with. Mahogany Neck-Through with Ebony fretboard, DiMarzio pickups, and you can get it made for you in any colour you so wish. The list price there being about 4K, I'd imagine if you were to call for the price, you should expect it to be half that, and considering the current strenth of the euro against the dollar, you'd really get your monies worth.

Although, that might be a bit mad yet... So you might really want to try the NJ series. Mahogany body, maple neck with an ebony fretboard.
