Need Advice...

Ok so after a lot of looking around, and a bit of advice from some very helpful people on this board I have come up with the following spec list for my pc. Just to refresh memories, I am handy with a computer, by no means a genius and I have a fair grasp of how things work although I may be about 4 years behind as regards the lingo.

I am looking to build a pc; I have dabbled in this before, for friends etc. and I have been looking for parts. I was advised to wait for the new Pentium / AMD boards to come out before making my decision.

This is what I have so far:

    ASUS P5GD2 Delux (intel)

    Pentium 4 (775) 3.0 ghz

    PowerColor Radeon X800PRO 256MB GDDR3 AGP

    1 gig DDR

    200gig HD

Can I get some advice on this spec, ie: is it the best solution for my gaming habbits or should I be looking in another direction. For the record I am using AMD for the last 6 years and was planning on sticking with them but I have since heard that the new Pentium chipsets are superior.

*I should say that I'm looking to spend around 2000 on this*

I dont think i would go for that card. I love ATI in all but this card i dont think is much good or at least i think you can get better for the same ish price. Look for the Nvidia 6800gt card which in alot of cases can be clocked to Ultra or close to them speeds.

What motherboards would you recommend for this chip?

Bear in mind the new boards including your ASUS P5GD2 Delux have PCI express slots so you'll have to buy a PCIe graphics card. X800 256MB cards are all up around the 480 euron mark.. eeek!
