BitTornado - Green Light, but no DL Speed... ??

    Hi Guys,

I have a 1.5 MB NTL Line, and I`m using a Belking Wireless Router (54 MB model) with it.

I forwarded the ports on the Router, I got a static IP Adress, I set the same ports in BitTornado and I configured my Norton Firewall to allow trafic from BitTornado on these ports.

All is well, and I get the green bulb.... BUT... I can`t get any download speeds higher then 5 or 6 KB. Uploads go much higher at times, but not the downloads.

What did I forget, or what else could I check ?

    THX.
    DSAB

if you're getting a green light, theres nothing else you can do, except try a different port. Sometimes ISP's throttle certain well known P2P ports.

Try forwarding a random port number like 3652 and use that in bittornado.

Theres nothing to say that anything is wrong on your end, or theirs for that matter. A network connection is only as fast as its slowest point. There may just be a bottle neck in the middle.

As well as that, the nature of cable transmission means that the more users in your area at any one time, the slower your one individual connection is going to be. Maybe you should just restrict your downloading to later in the evening, when less people are likely to be on.
