Overclocking my PC

    Hey,
    Just wondering would anyone out there have any info about overclocking my CPU. I have a P3 1Ghz Compaq deskpro with 512Ram, just sitting here on a boring sunday an thought I'll give it a go, never did it before but I guess I'll have to change my cpu settings in the bios? Is it worth doing even>? What kind of improvement on speeds will it have>?

    You'd need to change the FSB on the motherboard. But I seriously doubt that a compaq system would have overclocking options you can use. Besides a 1Ghz P3 is almost at its limits so theres little gains to be had even if you could do it.

    Basically forget it.

    Thanks for the advice lads, I was only thinking of doing it to waste some time til the bird comes home. Thanks Dubdvd for the link, had a browse through it and will have a look at the board for any switches r jumpers i can change. Sure its only a bit of craic! At least I've learnt something today instead nursing a hangover like sunday is usually spent.
