I've had this condition from the age of about 12/13 and I'm 25 now. I recently began to wear glasses due to headaches  , well I do nearly spend 12 hours a day on the PC. The optician doing my eye test noticed that I suffred from Blepharitis, which I knew already but I've never really done anything about it as I don't get it that bad most days. Basicly I get sleep/cack or whatever you want to call it on my eye lids, and it doesn't wash off very easy not like with most ppl, if I try to wash or pick  it off my eye lids get very red and it looks horrible  ... So I try not to pick or wash my eyes, I know it sounds terrible but it's not that bad, 90% of the time you wouldn't notice it.

Anyway I was just wondering if anyone else had this condition ?

yep ,all of the time ,came out of nowhere. I have a permanent red mascara look that would make motley crue jealous.

I've had this for years. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to ease the symptoms? I've been using drops, gels, taking fish oils etc. Wondering if anyone has come across anything else that works? The worst part is I always look like I'm hungover or like I've been crying for hours!

Chat to your doctor folks - best bet always. That way you get a definite diagnosis of your eye complaint.

Wow finally some people in the same boat as me. I have had this condition since I was 13 (24 now) :(

Have had brief periods of respite in that time period.

Recently I went to the eye clinic in the Beacon for expert advice..so on fish oil, drops, and 3 times daily washing of eyelids.. still not much improvement yet.

Me too , I look like vince neil out of motely crue . I believe it was aggravated by taking antibiotics 3 times in one year.seems to be no known cure for it . It seems to be related to skin conditions like eczema and dandruff.

The most annoying part is when the ophthalmologist says there's no definite reason for it, and no definite cure.

Do you wash your lids 3 times a day? Last time I went to the doc, she told me that over washing can cause eye lashes to thin out, as blepharitis can tend to cause lashes to fall out anyway. Wish she would have told me that three or four years ago!

    Hi guys,
yes ive also had this condition for many years, the doctor told me to clean out eyes with a mixture of baking soda and water 1 teaspoon in 1 litre, twice a day using a cotton bud, also to use hot compresses I use chamomile tea bags. Anyways it seems to be having a little bit of success hopefully after a while I won't look stoned all the time! :D
