Well, four years or so after doing the Leaving Cert, I've accepted a place doing Film & TV in GMIT, Galway.

I wonder are there many other people out there that are in their twenties and are just starting college now. I hope I'm not going to be known as the old man of the class.

You can imagine where it goes from here. --- He fixes the cable?

I'm going into 2nd yer Physics in UCC and I'm 20. In my course there are lots of mature students. There's a 30yr old mother in my class. I doubt you'll feel old if you're only in your 20's.

Age doesn't matter a damn in college. That is one thing that I noticed when I started 4 years ago. I was only 17 then, and started doing the wrong course. Buggered up my CAO and applied for a transfer which I was granted after buggering up my exams and then repeating. I'm now back on track entering my FY degree in CS, and I owe my current success to the fact that I'm older and wiser.

Also, it's always mature students that get student of the year awards IMO. Well from what I've seen at graduation ceremonies anyway. I don't know about ye guys but I'll always remember my mother saying she'd love to be back doing the leaving cert when I was doing mine. Now that I'm older I am actually thinking that I would do a lot better if I were to sit it now also.

    So there ya go.
