    presuming you're using windoze,

right click my computer, most of the basic info should be there under properties, then look at hardware for individual bits n pieces

    go start>run>dxdiag

if you have a version of direct X installed it should give you your processor frequency and you ram

tab down to display to find your graphics card and sound for your audio

this (everest home edition ) will give you the complete specs on your computer.
after installing and running the program you click on computer , summary and a full list of your components will be in the right pane. those in blue are active links and will take you direct to info or drivers for the relevant hardware. play with it for a while and see what else it can do ,benchmark ram and various other
    facilities. http://www.lavalys.com/products/overview.php?pid=1&lang=en&pageid=1
