ok ive just been on ebay browsing for a bargain (as ye do) and ive come across quite a number of people selling this quick fix that supposely gets you all the PayPerView events for free as well as movies n adult channels really anything that costs extra.

Now most people know about the auld battery trick that when you strip the other end of the phone line that connects to the wall and put the black n red wires onto a 9v square battery it tricks the box into thinking its the phone line and allows purchases up 50 quid or so, BUT when the box is plugged back into the line you automatically get charged.

However i have been researching this and have found various articles about this. One of them referred to getting a card reader and making a copy of it before making purchases then do the battery thing when you've done a couple, then blank it n copy what was on it before the purchases were made.

Another one was saying about a secret technicians menu that allowes you to enable any channel you want absolutely free. If they do work do you get charged?

I havent bought any of these off ebay altho they are only costing from 1 to 4 quid because you would feel a right twat if they sent you a diagram showing you how to put two wires onto a battery, but i was wondering if anybody has or anybody knows a bit more about this subject and would like to shead a bit of light on it :D .

There is two reasons why this won't work
1, It is not currently possible to copy of modify the information on a Sky / NDS card
2, The purchase information is stored in the box and on the card so if you used up all your credit then told sky you lost your card, as soon as you insert your new card the box writes the PPV purchase info back to the new card, the reverse happens if you change your box.

Utter rubbish do you really think sky are that stupid ;)
In short there are No working hacks for sky digital at this point in time.
There is a 'secret' menu which allows you to change some minor things on the box Press services 401 select but there is nothing in there that will give you anything for free.

    So save your money bud.

well bud i did the battery trick n ordered a few films but never plugged my box back in to the phone line. then i recently moved house n we brought the box n got a reconnection. Everything that i ordered with the battery(about 10 flicks) never appeared on the bill. that makes me believe that there not stored in the box.... im kinda between a rock n hard place!

They are verified to be stored on the box and card, have yourself a look at the many forums dealing with this topic.
As for your case you don't say if you plugged in the phoneline yet ( I assume you did) and even if you have since you moved house got a reconnection ect, you may get away with it especially if you got assigned a new account, who's to know...
But as I already posted there are no hacks at the moment.

also while i was looking into this i found out about a company that does isp through the satallite. the modem is about 200 blips and i already have the quad thingymagig coming off the satallite for multiroom viewing were only using 3 connections atm. dont suppose ye know anything about this, it was cheap aswell only €26 for a 266/126 n €54 for a 512/256, the only thing i didnt like was you used your modem to make the request and they sent it back down through the satallite so it meant you were still using your phone line :o pitty cause its a good idea. i take it the satallite can only recieve??

    In voakesy's defence:
Tuxy I dunno if there's a hint of sarcasim in your post but I remember I couldn't find the stupid satellite/cable forums etc. for a bit until someone informed me they were under the (obvious) heading of Hosted>ICDG...

I second that. I want a forum full of illegal stuff like this.

illegal is such a harsh word. its more rec re ational!
and sky are gonna ****in own every channel soon and theres gonna
be yet another ****in monopoly were gonna be robbed by.

why cant everything be free and everyone walk round with no clothes on?
    (only the beautiful people)

There is one way to get satellite channels free and even then its moot as unless you're a hobbyist as its very expensive. You set up your own satellite dish and decoder to pick up signals directly from the equatorial satellites. A mate of my brother's down near Loughrea is a lover of home cinema so he set this up so his wife could pick up German satellite stations (she's from Berlin). Alas that the full rig set him back about 10k.

In short, stop being such a cheap langer and pay for Sky if you get it.

If you don't want to pay for programs or films on Sky, rent the DVD or download them from Bittorrent. If you don't want to pay for "adult content", type "porn" into Google. That will keep you amused for weeks. If you don't want to pay for games, go here

The ebay thing is a scam. avoid.

The phone line trick will come back to get you. The digibox stores the box office viewed events. You have a credit limit on the digibox too. Once you plug phone back in, the bounceback will get you and your account will be debited.

There is no free SKY tv. NDS encryption sytem is not hacked (yet).

try searching for "matrix cam" if you want to find out what is gettable on your telly. this will get you pointed in the right direction.
there are thousands of channels possible.
