AAAARRRRGGGH, how the hell do you prevent the default language from becoming English (U.S.) every time you open word?
I've changed it 5 times today!!!
    I'm going to kill someone...
I keep going in and setting the language to English (Ireland) and then click default. I do this every time then close Word, come back an hour later and Bam i open it up and it is telling me centRE is spelled wrong!!!

I don't even have Us English in my regional settings for my keyboard.

    Running Office XP btw.

Control Panel -> Regional and Language Options

Make sure the region is set to English (Ireland).

Then do a search for Normal.dot

Delete every occurence you find of it.

Open Word and reset the Language to English(UK) or English(Ireland).

Let us know if it works.

Tried all of the above seems to have done something alright but when you go to the languages in word it still shows English (US) seperated along with ireland from the rest. I have a feeling its going to come back to haunt me. thanks though, it may well have worked.

in word - tools - language - default - English (Ireland)

any existing documents will still be in US
    - CTRL-A - tools - langague - set marked text as etc..

check in regional settings that default system is Irish - else new users/profiles will revert to US etc.

BTW: check for letter size paper too....

if all else fails delete normal.dot ..
