    How about a definitive list?

    I'll go first: In Dublin:

    1) Asia Market, Oriental Supermarket on Drury Street
    2) Spiceland, Middle-eastern grocery (I'll check the exact name of this street)
    3) Shabnam, Indian (on the same street as Spiceland)
    4) Malik's, Indian , Coolmine business park

I'll add more as I think of them.

Shabnam and Spiceland are both on South Richmond Street.

    Here's a mini-directory:

There's a new(ish) place on Little Mary Street, on the right hand side heading towards the fruit market from the centre. Can't remember what it's called, but they have a really good Indian section, a Chinese section and rather unusually a Turkish section including Halal butchery. They're closed sometime around Friday lunchtime for prayers though, so be warned.

Also there's a Chinese place on George Street ... Asian Food Emporium or something similar.

Medina on Moore St is quite good for Indian and arab food.

On Sunday I came across a new branch of Oriental Emporium - on Abbey Street at the Luas Jervis Street stop.

I live near Maliks in Coolmine. Though small I'm impressed - helpful staff. I asked for recommendations on basmati rice and got a lovely, reasonably priced type. The guy then gave me a small pack of chick pea snacks to try. Another time he was helpful when ask about one of the many 'just add meat' type packets.
Another bonus is that it doesn't have the 'distinctive' smell that Oriental Emporium has (the new place smells just like the Sth Gt Georges Street branch).

Any stores selling American foodstuff? I'm particularly interested in Ghirardelli white chocolate mocha powder.

There's a indian or middle eastern, I'm not sure which, it's just after the interseciton of Camden street and South Circular Road on the right hand side up what looks like a large ally, I think you can nearly see it from the crossroads. It could be Spiceland. If you go south towards Ranelagh from that crossroads you'll also see some specialist food shop along that road before you get to the canal.

There's an asian shop in Ranelagh along the main road, I don't remember exactly where it is sorry :( Another one can be found on Capel street about half way down beside a diet/weight/fitness food shop.

Theres a russian Food place off Parnell Street at the back of a building site. Turn left of O'Connell street, then the first right and you'll see a sign on one of the left turns for it.

I haven't been in any of these, only the Asian Empourium on Georges street.

If you take the turn just beside the new Oriential empourium at the Luas station (through that new flat area) there's an Italian Deli just on the next corner. There seems to be tons of these places about :) never really thought about it before.

In the magazine that came with Ireland on Sunday yesterday there was an article which had a number of speciality shops. They were mainly in Dublin, but there were also a few outside Dublin.

If anyone is interested I will post the names here.

There is an Italian food shop on Clarendon Street, opposite the entrance to Powerscourt Town Centre. Seems to have a small deli but a good range of pasta, sauces. I buy 00 flour there for making pasta.

I think this is Malik's, as mentioned in an earlier post. It is near Molloy's Off License and Power City.
