Firexfox Bookmarks gone - Recovery posible ?

    I am using Firefox, without any problems so far. But now suddenly all my bookmarks are gone. Is there any way to recover them ?

    i had that last week :rolleyes:

    id be curious to know if theres a solution but i gave up hope and started browsing around making up a new list :(

    which version do you have?

    1. check your profile folder!

    C:\documents and settings\yourusername\application data\mozilla\firefox\jf349wfj folder(your folder will have other numbers and letters)\

    there should be bookmarks.html file! check it!

    here's how to not lose them!

    everytime after you are finished browsing CLOSE your browsers! make sure they are closed from taskmanager! if your mozilla is on and your pc will crash, there is a very big chance you are going to lose your bookmarks!

    get an bookmark-backup extension!

    if you have a very recent restore point you could chance using System Restore to see if it brings back the bookmarks. Using an older retore point might cause too many changes to your pc and might not be the best plan. Of course there is also the option of restoring and if the bookmarks return going to > manage bookmarks > file > export > save the exported file to a floppy disk or cd. Now that you have backed them up to a floppy you could go back into System Restore and undo the last restoration which will bring you back to the position you are now in, with the bookmarks missing. however you would then be able to import the bookmarks fro the file you saved to the floppy.

    this is not a solution to retrieiving already lost Mozilla bookmarks, but a way of preventing further loss in the future.

    MozBackup is a handy backup tool for Mozilla programs - Firefox, Thunderbird etc. that allows you to backup all your settings, bookmarks, emails, account details, address book etc. etc. into one file for recovery later in case of loss somehow.
