Tried posting this in the technology forum, but i cant seem ito find it anymore..

Hoping to buy a radio for my dad's 60'th the budget is pretty big..

He's big into listening to bbc in the uk and i thought i could get him a device that he could listen to digital broadcasts of bbc (or any other country's radio stations) in digital quality..

There seems to be only two types of devices

    a. ) A world receiver - appears to be non digital

b.) A digital radio receiver - unsure if it can recieve signals from around the world.

Does anyone know if there exists a hybrid of the two devices above?
