To be honest, I didnt think too much of it at all. In fairness I gave it only one listen and it could be one of those albums that just creeps up on you and sounds better & better each time you hear it. I think there are 1/2 decent songs in there. I dont like the present single at all though... just find it boring.

Is it just me or does it seem that bands such as the manics, oasis, greenday, stereophonics, etc are simply past their best? The mind boggles...if these were new bands coming on to the scene with the same material, would they be breaking down barriers and making the same impression as they did before?

My reckoning is...I dont think so.

    Any thoughts?

i am very happy with the album. i think its the best since everything must go. the solo in a song for departure is great too. only complaint is that cardiff afterlife is too abrubt a finisher, if you have the single of richard nixon i think that askew road would make a much better finishing track.i would give it a 3 maybe four out of 5

i think you are all wrong.the new stuff is brillantly written and sounds so fresh and anything but hollow.james voice still bellows to the tree tops and the playing is so tight.
