Friend of mine's pc is running ultra slow - processor is showing up as being at 100% most of the time. He has run several spyware detectors and any stuff found has been removed - apart from trying a full reinstall of windows is there anything else he should be looking at? (Hes using Widows XP)

hit ctrl-alt-del and find out what process is taking all the CPU time, and then google for it to find out what it is. If its spyware/virus's, you should easily find removal instructions and if not, just ask us.

check in the processes to see if its "spooler.exe" taking all
    the power.

That used to grind my pc to a halt until i reformatted :p
