I don't think that's possible. An mp3 is audio data and a midi file is instructions to a synthesizer to play certain notes for a certain duration at a certain pitch on a certain synth sound (e.g piano ). There are some pitch to midi convertors which work okay on a monophonic source, but they need a lot of tweaking for every different tune input, and they will either miss notes or generate extra false notes - you'd need to do a lot of editing of the result in a midi sequencer to clean it up. These convertors will not work at all on a polyphonic track. Monophonic=one note at a time (e.g. flute). Polyphonic=more than one note simultaneously(e.g. guitar chord or a band playing together). You'd be much better off googling "midi search" and looking up the song you want midi for there. I don't know if there are limitations on the midi files which the nokia can take (number of channels/tracks, etc.)?

Just tried a few of those links in google, Fletch. The results are horrendous/hilarious on anything polyphonic :D

Yes. The 6600 has a version of Real player on it so it can play mp3's. I don't know if it can use them as ringtones tho.

    *cough* crack *cough*
I've tried a few of the mp3-midi programs before. The results were awful. From what I hear there aren't any decent ones available, at any price.

Falcon - could you not search the internet for a midi file of the song you want and upload that to your phone?

Ive tried a few of them too making ringtones for an old s55. Cant remember which ones but they were all useless. The results are always scratchy/off-tone and distorted.
