I was having some problem with my gfx card and when trying to bring it back to life i decided to clear the mobo cmos.
Since i done that the pc powers on when i flick the psu switch to on?
It never done this before? I taught it might have been cause i didn't have 2 molex plug into the cd/dvd drive but even with them in it powers on.
Here's the spec if its important: asus mobo, amd cpu, nvidia gfx, 1 gig of ram, antec 430W psu, 2HD, cd/dvd drive & floppy.
Hope someone knows, thanks in advance.

This is too much of a snowball not to be thrown... I can't bring myself to do it. Any takers? :D

Sounds like something along the lines of BIOS power settings - if you have the 'after power failure' option set to 'always on' or 'last state'. When you switch off the psu or unplug the cord it can look to the motherboard like a power failure and when the mains power is restored it acts accordingly.

i dont know if mine does this all the time...but when i reset my cmos (usually after a failed overclock) all i do is switch off on the psu then reset it...when i turn the switch back on..even though i had turned it off properley i just switch it back on at the back and the pc starts up without pressing the power button but since i always leave it switched on on the back of the psu i dont know if this is just because i cleared the cmos or if it does it anyway

I checked the bios for that and left it will try the different option next time i boot.
Altough it never done it before after clearing the cmos.
