Just got these on DVD in the HMV sale. Watched both a few years ago.

Man Bites Dog is pure nasty, but I found it funny. Anyone else have an opinion on it they'd like to share ?

Hard Boiled is classic John Woo. Great flick, now I get to see it undubbed for the first time. I hate dubbing !

Is HardBoiled available on DVD subtitled now? Must buy it so.

I like a nasty or disgusting film as much as the next man but I found Man Bites Dog to be tedious, repetitive and worst of all boring in the extreme.

Plus whatever genius doesn't black-box subtitles on a black and white film needs shooting.

Pure nasty is right... I saw it when it came out on video first and it's still the only movie ever to have caused me to be violently physically sick.

It was a case of bad timing. I'm sure if I watched it these days I could handle it a bit better and it would actually probably bore me. Saying that, - I'd still have no real want to see it these days... I'd still class it as a waste of celluloid and certainly NOT worth buying on DVD (imho...)

(At the time I watched it, it struck home hard on a particular "nasty" topic which was an especially sore point in the circumstances I was in... something I'd had recent experience of...)
