Not being a Windows guru, but doesn't Windows have to have some associated handler program for a file type (eg Word for .doc) before it can search them? Alternatively if you are talking about the difference between html files on a remote webserver and php files on a remote webserver, the php file is effectively run by the server each time and all that you see is the output of that php file rather than the content of the php file.

    Possibly...no windows guru myself either.

    Dreamweaver did the job though.

    Tnx
