Saw a documentary / news item on Sky News today on it. Luckily, Duchovny and Moore leave most of the jokes to the comedians.

Duchovny just tries to be 'cool'.

Changing call sign to SIERRA PAPA OSCAR OSCAR FOXTROT.

from what I've heard its a film very much in the style of Ghostbusters (same director).

Which is not a bad thing at all.

Um, Duchovny is a damn good comedian. His deadpan stuff in the X-Files had me in tears laughing a couple of times - great sense of timing, and fantastic ability to say utterly bizarre things with a straight face.

I saw this film on friday when it came out.
I was looking forward to it as it looked like easy watching with popcorn - my favourite type of film.

turns out its a total turkey though.
vaugely funny , but not really - you'd be
better off getting ghostbusters out on video.

Seen Ghost Busters too often but I will wait for Evolution on video methinks, the reviews have been very very mixed.

Saw this one last night. I don't know how reviews can be mixed about it.

Utter, utter pants. I felt utterly embarrassed for the filmmakers.... and I thought Ghostbusters was great.

Very weak storyline (initial premise is the only interesting thing) - gags are childish,
plot goes NOWHERE and the acting is abysmal.

    Avoid avoid avoid.....
(you'll thank me if you eventually see it on video!)

I found it very patchy. Some bits of it were cringe-makingly bad, but occasionally it got going and delivered really solid, hilariously put together scenes. The climax of the film is fantastic, Reitman right back on Ghostbusters form, but it is really let down by other parts.

Seann William Scott can't act and his part served no purpose in this film. Someone should have done the decent thing and edited him out.

Orlando Jones, on the other hand, is brilliant - a real comedic talent in the making.
