video MMS - max filesize?

I've got my grubby hands on a Motorola V550 (essentially the v525 with 3gp video encoding) and i'm trying to send videos via MMS. Having two problems:

    1. sending video MMS to an email address: I can send a 29K video, but not a 90K video. The bigger one sends no problem on the phone, just never arrives in my inbox. According to the Vodafone site it should be possible to send MMS up to 100K in size. Customer care haven't been much help on this. Anyone been able to send anything over 30KB?

    2. sending video MMS to another mobile: the MMS notification arrives fine, but the video isn't attached it's linked instead - and the link doesn't work. Anyone been able to MMS a video to another phone?

    Cheers

Pictures up to 100K should be fine on VF - I have sent them no bother. However I have a feeling (and I will try and find out for sure) that large videos dont currently work.

The limit is due to go up to 300k at some point in the near future.

I'm on 02 and I'm able to send videos upto 100kb without a problem to other O2 customers. But I've noticed that people on vodafone are unable to. I sent a 96kb video to a vodfone number and got a reply from VODAFONE saying the file size is to big.

Just got a friend to try sending a 50KB video via MMS to email address and it worked no problem (Nokia 6600, vodafone).

Why does my account seem to block at 30KB? voda-support don't seem to know

BigMoose: have you tried with a 100K video?

Vodafone mentioned something to me before about 27 kb, but I think that was sending to O2.

Are you sending to another person on Voda or are they O2?

No - all my MMS testing was done using pictures cause I'm lazy and they are easier to take! But I will try a vid and let you know how I get on. Cant do it right now as one of the 2 phones I have that is capable is being used to connect to the net...

It should be 100kb.. I sent an 89k video file just there from my 7610.. I sent it to myself and it was sent ok, didn't deliver though :/

Well I've been trying to send a 64kb video MMS to a friend and I keep getting failed delivery due to "Invalid preferred multimedia access point". I've double checked my access point settings with the ones in the sticky topic in this forum and they are correct (and I have no problem sending and receiving picture MMSes).

Both myself and my friend are on Vodafone although he has an 086 number because he recently switched from O2. Does anyone know what the issue could be?

Hmmm, now I'm after sending a 33kb video MMS to him without trouble. So 100kb is not the true limit then?? :(

What type phone do you have? Some will not send over 40kb or something,..

A Nokia 3650. He has a Nokia 6600. I'd be very surprised if the phone allows you to compose an MMS of that size but not to send it ??

And when the error message is about an invalid access point - doesn't that point to the network as the problem?

Yeah the the APN error would suggest that the phone is either not point at the correct APN or you have not been given access to that APN on the network..

The fact I could send up to 100kb on my 7610 pretty much means you should be able too. Maybe call support and see if they can find anything..
