Whoops...editing/bypassing the rc.local script?

I added something to my rc.local script that's stopping me from booting up. I tried Knoppix, but it apparently doesn't support writing to hard drives (using 3.4 here).

I basically need to remove or even comment out a single line from the script, but I can't boot in to do it. What would be the best way of going about it? :D

boot -s will boot into single user mode - you should be able to login as root and change it
