I visited the Quake board at the weekend

So what boards do people visit? Do you have boards you go to first and ones you leave for late? Any rituals?

/me: open about 5-7 windows. Start with Accommodation, Admin, After Hours, Humour & CS. Work through each, flicking from window to window once I finish reading a topic and letting the next page load. Proceed through about 16 boards. Usually Humour and Humanities are the last ones closed. Sometimes visit Weekly Weird News and News Groups.

Used to check alot more, I have After Hours bookmarked, but usually skip right into Counter-Strike or Half-Life. Then if I'm bored I'll check Humour and Humanities, if I'm even more bored I'll check every board.

Usually tech first, then all it's subsections. After that I check the main page every few minutes and see what other people are replying to.

Dont be at yourself

When I first log on, I check After Hours, Film & TV, Humanities, Music / Radio, Counter Strike, Games (sometimes Sport, Literature, Humour and Admin if I'm bored).

I open any topics I want to read in a new window and once I have them all open I start reading.

I usually just check games and counter-strike boards more than once a day though.

I read: After Hours/Films/Humour/Humanities (a few of the more intresting topics)/Science(same)/Admin/Games/Half-Life/CS/Wargames/Webgames/IR clan board.

Boards.ie is my homepage, so once that opens up i usually click webgames. Ill click "open in new window" on any topic that has new stuff in it, then once ive done that to every new topic ill send the original window to the next forum in the list (wargames), ill do the same there then keep moving up the list till ive read all of the boards on my list, with admin/science/IR clan board the last boards in that order

I generally surf through these looking for discussions that interest me or else I react to things that get my goat....

I generally only start topics in the TECH forums...

Well ive got the cs boards bookmarked, then i go to HL boards. Then im off to community IR boards. Then im back to games. Then im off to admin since its fun sometimes. Quick look at sales. Then maybe a look on humanities. Then RPG(just because its not mega active).

Then i just wait around in IRC or on the main page.

firstly, the quake board... although thats just habit since theres not much happening there lately. Then i go to the boards i posted on recently, to see replies. Then i just go to boards.ie/bulletin and randomly choose the ones with lightbulbs on (except the ones down the bottom... i never scroll). usually tech, webmaster, humanities, music and cs. occasionally i go to admin, films/tv, humour, art, after hours, and literature.

the odd time i go to the rest of the boards... unreal, halflife, programming, science, etc. (usually when they're the only ones with lightbulbs... which isn't very often)

the only ones i never visit are for sale, tribes, work, role-playing and accommodation.

I have a sort of system of boards reading I use ....... I'll read the boards for a long amount of time once a day, usually at around 6 o clock in the evening, I'll open the After hours, Film/TV, Games, Halflife, Counterstrike and Admin boards all at once and open just about every topic that has new replies in a new window, then set about reading them all. I keep checking back on the CS board at regular intervals to try and keep up to speed with it, but I'll usually check all the boards mentioned above before going to bed, along with Humanities, Science, and Food/Drink sometimes depending on my mood .

I work in order of priority. Start with Counter-Strike, of course,... I move into Games then..usually I go for Music/Film boards or afterhours. After that, its usually if I see an interesting post in the Recent posts.

Don't know why I allways do it in that pattern, but I do...

I always check the recent posts. Then check Programming / Technology / Webmaster / Afterhours. After that I will open a new window and browse elsewhere, constantly coming back to refresh the boards window, checking for new posts etc.

I especially like posts from ppl I know, coz it's interesting to hear what they have to say.

I've taken to using http://www.boards.ie/cgi-bin/bulletin/active.cgi a lot - I leave it open and have Opera refresh the page every 60 seconds. Pretty much like the main page, but you have a bit of the text from the post too.

i always check the quake boards first then I randomly choose from the cs, games, for sale, technology, after hours, unreal, tribes, game editing(community board), and anything else that looks interesting when im bored. But I always check the quake board first, just in case

Mmm, Counter-Strike, Games and Humanities I check periodically throughout the day. Then Films/TV, After Hours, Half-Life and Admin about once or twice a day, and the others when I spot something interesting in the "last 10 posts" section

I go to CS first of course, then Games,RPG,then AfterHours,Humanities,Humour,Admin and Sport and Webmaster.Sometimes i check out the Science board also and Films/T.V.
