    Hi I'm getting a new laptop & have been reading all the recent laptop posts. I have narrowed it down to these two.

    Which one would you chose? The Pentium M 725 (with the Radeon 9700 128MB) or the Pentium 530 (with the Radeon X600 64MB Graphics)?

    The main differences between the machines are listed below.

    Acer Aspire 2023WLMi
    * Pentium M 725 (1.6GHz/400MHz FSB/2MB L2 Cache)
    * 60GB Hard Drive
    * ATI Mobility Radeon 9700 128MB Graphics
    * 15.4" WXGA TFT Screen
    * SPDIF Audio Connection

    Or

    Acer Aspire 1802WSMi
    * Pentium 530 (3GHz/800MHz FSB/1MB L2 Cache)
    * 80GB Hard Drive
    * ATI Mobility Radeon X600 64MB Graphics
    * 17" WXGA TFT Screen
    * Integrated Bluetooth Adaptor

    The machine will be used as a graphics presentation machine.

    What do you think?

    For me personally I would go with the M725, mainly because of battery life,
    What is the Laptop being used for, Desktop replacement or for traveling around with.

    The M725 is 3KG Vrs the 530 @ 4.5Kg, you dont want to carry around 4.5Kg

    The two you mentioned are so different it really comes down to what you are using it for.

    Thanks JoePC

    Hi Joe,

    The laptop will not be doing alot of travelling, when it does it will be driven.

    It will be a graphic presentation machine and a office machine & off site desktop replacement machine.

    What do you think is the better graphic card & main chip?

    the full 800mhz 3GHZ wud be better then, if ur driving around and using it at a desk all the time. would be better suited to graphic work too...

    The pentium M will give you longer battery life, but if that isn't an issue, then go for the faster P4 chip. Both graphics cards are more than equal for the task your going to use em for. And if its being used as a desktop machine, the increased screen size will be appreciated.
