Redundancy

Anyone familiar with the form RP1?

I just received one (as the department is moving to Slovakia and am being made redundant) but the date of notice on it is backdated to 23/09. Anyone know if it legal to backdate what is effectively a government form.

Basically they're trying to say that the gave me notice of redundancy on 23/09 when the letter accompanying the form is actually dated 10/10.

Sorry to hear your bad news. I'm not familiar with the form but check your startdate with the company very carefully. If it's between 23/09 and 10/10 they may be trying to shortchange you of a year's benefit.

    Sorry to hear dude

Having been thru this to the best of my knowledge, the notice of redundacy form RP1 cannot be backdated, it is illegal, the date on it must be the date you formally recieved redundo notice i.e. the date they formally gave you a copy of RP1.... !

Follow this up or they may short-change you - in terms of statutory and of course other benefits.
