Shoes & tracksuit bottoms!

The title might be alarming but all I'm wondering about is this:

Where to buy a pair of non-scanger-runners...maybe like some DCs or something that can be worn with jeans and/or tracksuit bottoms. I have a pair of vans but they're quite wide so I'm looking for something thin...to avoid the whole 'skinny jeans crumpled above the massive shoe' look. I think nikes and jeans are just criminal but I need these shoes to work ok with tracksuit bottoms too.

Any ideas? I don't really wanna buy the new Pumas every's bought. I know DC do thinner styles (Alias etc.) but they're not exactly rampant or cheap in our great country.

I've been to Shuh on O'Connell Street...meh.

Converse Allstars are skinny... although they're owned by Nike now which kind of ruins things.

A bit too old skool punky for my liking. I guess the question was a bit vague. Don't care who owns them!

If you lace Vans very tightly, you'll have new skinny Vans...

OR, you could wear baggy jeans.

    Which look much better anyways.

Converse are owned by nike? Nooo.... *sheds a tear* They are forever tainted...

Well, at least mine are probably fake.

G1 Skate Supplies, just left of the Burger King at Oconnell Bridge, up the stairs. Massive selection but sometimes it's hard to get popular sizes like ten and that

    Damn straight!!

Think they were €40, also think they had them in red. Can't remember though.
The place I got them was at the top of Henry St on the left (with your back to the Spire). Think it had a white shop front, the mens shoes were upstairs. Place was pretty small actually.

I think k-swiss runners are really nice and they are not entirely scangerly, they can be worn with runners and tracksuit bottoms but they might be a bit too wide for your liking

Thanks I'm gonna give them a look.

nike are terrible, they are common as muck walking around town you'll see that every second person under 25 wears them (not actual figures).

i had a pair of nike about 5 years ago and they fall apart quicker than any other shoes i've worn.

The best duralabilty from shoes i find are from skate shoes, as long as you don't skate in them they'll stay together twice as long as nikes.

How about martial art style shoes from Adidas. They seem to only sell white in Ireland, but they're available in plenty other colours on the net. Nice and slim fitting. Though you'll have to be OK with very flat soles. Like this
