Want to go to Amsterdam and was thinking of flying from Dublin to Rotterdam and then taking the train to Amsterdam.
    Has anybody done this?
How long does the train take?
Where do you get the train in Rotterdam or is there one that goes straight from the airport to Amsterdam?

    Thanks.

My brother did it last week; he lives in Amsterdam, said it takes about an hour on the train to Rotterdam and its very convenient, since Rotterdam airport is a nice small one like Cork airport.

Its easy to get from Rotterdam Airport to Rotterdam Centraal Station by bus.

Exit the terminal, turn left and walk to the end of the building and you will come to a bus stop. Get the local bus 33 to rotterdam Centraal Station (about 20 mins, pay cash or stripenkaart). From there is is about an hour to Amsterdam Centraal by train.

To find directions from/to anywhere by public transport in NL, try

There is also an express buss from Rotterdam Aport to Amsterdam Centraal station.

    hope this helps.
