As the Barry Norman review on the poster goes " every man, woman, child in the world should see this movie"
I absolutly loved it and im off to see it again later this week.
Ten mins into the movie the cinema burst into a round of applause after the first fight sequence!!!

They've been doing fight sequences like this in HK movies and tv series for the last 20 years. It's nothing new to most chinese people though it is a very good film. smile.gif

In fairness Wing, the fight sequences in Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon are far beyond anything I've ever seen in a HK or Chinese martial arts movie before. It's Chinese moviemaking applied with a Hollywood budget - amazing stuff.

I am sure you've seen a lot of HK martial arts movie but what I was referring are the movies based on chinese martial arts fantasy movies and comics (got a couple at home if you wanna borrow them, you'll have to put up with dodgy english subtitles or learn cantanese smile.gif). The fight sequences in those films look great and as far as I know none of them were ever translated or exported etc so I have a feeling you've never seen them. (hey, where's Lain? you got my email or just ignoring me? you're mean frown.gif anyway, if it's too much trouble it's okay, just say so)

Can anyone tell me if this film is going nationwide of not, because i'll throw a wobbly if it doesnt. This is the film i want to see more than any other this year, apart from The Fellowship Of The Ring, of course.

Im going to the bear fights tomorrow, want to come with ??

Hey Chubby - I'm not so sure that you're right.

I went to the omniplex in Galway yesterday to see Accelerator and noticed a poster for Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon. So I suppose it's going to come to Galway for a limited time anyways.

    I can't wait.

    The film rox the planet!

If you get a chance to see it and don't take that chance, you chould be beaten to death with Chow Yun Fat's pony tail!

    All the best,

Woah. Damn this was good. I am in shock. Saw iit in the Capitol Cinema in Cork. Crappy screen though. Its like the Neo Vs Morpheus scene in the matrix except 1000 times better. To be honest if you see this Matrix 2 will look crap. You cannot get better.
    I'm gonna see it again.

Astounding. Beautiful locations, great script (which will really bring a tear to the eye of any Shaw Brothers afficionado smile.gif ), excellent acting, amazing fight scenes.

    Near perfect.

after the hype of here, and elsewhere, i thought it was underwhelming. good enough. and the 2 other people i went with felt the
    same.
it is grand for what it is, without being in any way as Grand as i had expected

damn damn damn damn, i havent felt that good coming out of a movie since The Matrix. Truly brillaint battle sequences, like watching a Ninja Ballet film, some beautiful locations, gorgeous women, Chow Yun fat and, well, its the best film ive seen in a long time. If you have the chance, check it out..

Damn it Jim, im a doctor, not a Beefy King !

Classy flick, but that whole thing with the flying was a little bit weird.
The Fx lads didnt even try to make it look like they were jumping, just blatant strings attached to their backs.

Gr8 film, i must admit, but all the hype it has gotten left me feeling slightly disappointed. Fight sequences are technicly superior to the matrix, although not of the same cinematic quality.... I liked hooks that linked up to form a kind of nunchuk thing.
