Into my second year kickboxing in college, totally addicted!Want to get competitve, we fight using the "light contact"(controlled contact allowed,no pausing) style whereas lots of clubs seem to go for the "semi-contact" (where the fight is paused after every point is scored) which is not as exciting.
will be a while b4 i go near full contact!

Any views on what style you go for?

i'm a kicker when it comes to fighting so i'm a pure points fighter, when you see the irish open or some tournament and see the terrible semi-contact continuous fighting you'll be very bored! :)
although fighting in it, i'm sure you'll love.
mugendo love their semi-contact, full-contact continuous craic

well to be honest i really dont mind what style i fight once i'm ready.i want work on my speed, blocks and counters as im presuming power isnt as important in semi or light contact?

Being honest, I prefer to spar continuous. (ITF TKD) I'm not fast enough for points, but over the course of a fight I can wear someone down and pick up a lot of points from blitzes and getting in some good kicks.
Though I've just gone up a section, red and black belt section in the nationals next month should be a laugh... :p

thats the style i (try) to adopt, until i can build up the speed i need...was sparring last nite against a newbie who claimed to have two years kb behind him.we went 3* 2min rounds,i just let him come at me in the first and he did with everything he had (which wasnt alot) i kept it tight and kept moving, he was very open and loose with no formed stance, second round i kept a nice distance and he threw kicks everywhere xcept at me,by the 3rd he couldnt even keep his hands up to his face....game over!

    liars will always be exposed.
