Thinkin of gettin Zebra Duncan JB and '59 for my '03 Epi LP. I know they'd look a lot better and sound better but would they be 190yos (including VAT not including delivery from Thomann) better? Non zebras in Ad Lib in Calrow, 260 for the set.

Tell Barry White in Ad Lib, Tom from Jekyl was asking for him.
    That's all.

Epiphones have garbage electronics. Yes, they would be €500 better. Make sure you swap out the pots too.

Hmmm. Think I'll start with the pickus and a new toggle switch (mine gets a bit trippy when there's dust around.) Another 60 quid for the pots on thomann. This project is gettin closer to, sell epiphone, sell soul and any other paraphenalia, buy second hand gibson.

You're better off saving for the Gibson and leaving the Epiphone as is. Put the money towards a great guitar, rather than trying to soup up an average one.

Well I will be gettin a Gibson eventually. Last year in college and stuff, so if I do succeed in gettin a job next year that's the first thing on my shoppin list. For now it'll have to do. So, if the Epiphone was my only option (I'm not counting selling my other guitars to get a "real" LP as an option!) would not changin the pots have a drastic effect on the sound?

Changing the pots won't change the sound but, knowing Epi pots as I do, there'll be more snap, crackle and pop coming out of them than a bowl of rice crispies soon enough. They use crap electronics in those guitars, if you're going to keep the guitar, lose the Epi pots, if you're going to get a Gibson, let it be the next guy's problem.

TBH, €60 for pots is BS. You could probably get them in Maplins for €20. But make sure you change the wire too. As the Doc said, the electronics is ****e.

The reason the pots are that price is that they are proper Gibson ones, or so it says.

    No point in them tbh...

Total bull****! The Gibson pots that is. Try www.guitarelectronics.com for all that stuff. Really cheap (even including V.A.T. + deliver at about €10 or so).

Pickups are really expensive in Ireland. Just like all guiatr stuff really!
