what books do you think should be made into a film??

i think Hitch Hikers guide to the Galaxy should be done again ,this time properly.

they should get Tim Robbins as Ford Prefect,
Bill Murray as Zaphod Beeblbrox. i havent decided on Arthur Dent yet.
twould be a funny film if properly done though.

uhh..when was it brought to the big screen in the first place. Douglas Adams says that he wants Hugh Laurie for Arthur Dent. Perfect casting, if y'all ask me. The guy who directed Austin Powers, Jay Roach is the guy with the megaphone, if it ever gets made of course, which it might not...

Im going to the bear fights tomorrow, want to come with ??

I don't think a BBC job would be considered bringing it to the big screen tbh, was it ever in any cinema?

Yes, - he of the long face who appeared in "A bit of Fry and Laurie" on TV with Stephen Fry, and recently starred alongside Geena Davis in the kids movie "Stuart Little" (oh, AND the up-coming Stuart Little 2). He'd make a fine Ford Prefect... but if Bill Murray was to be Zaphod... um... who'd be his second head?... that'd be cool- a mix of two actors playing that one groovy dude wink.gif

    More info on Laurie... here

    Cheers smile.gif

Oh... and I'd like to see a RED DWARF movie... that counts as the series were based originally on the excellent novels of Grant and Naylor.

    There's one due though, apparently...

It's hard to know how any of the books in the series would work in films though. Too surreal. I haven't seen the old BBC TV adaption so I'm probably talking a load of old ****** biggrin.gif

yeh,it would be good to see a decent medieval type movie again, although i hear a D&D movie is coming out,as well as the lord of the rings series.

Monty Python to re-form, make new movies, overthrow British parliament, install ministry for silly walks, generally go bonkers all over again...

    Wouldn't THAT be cool? wink.gif

    (( Whoops... heh... just noticed the topic... not a book... sh|te... still - I'd like to see it happen !! }}

I'd say they would be nearly impossible to do problem - there is just so much in them. V would be easier, but still most people (ie Americanos) wouldn't get it.

I don't think V or Watchmen woukld make good films. What looks good in a comic can look extremely sad inn a film. Both are bloody excellent books though. Since ye're including comics how about a preacher or hitman film. smile.gif

Any of Patrick O'Brian's Seafaring Novels. Lots of action and backstabbing.
