I just bought an amp from them recently. They say 8 days but in reality it's about 3 weeks.

oh yeah and shipping is 23 euro for anything.

i got my amp in 2 weeks, dont mind the wait considering the price u pay, its 23e for most things except REALLY heavy stuff afaik

I always like to stock up on the small stuff too when ordering from them - strings, straps, plecs etc. Prices are great and it shouldn't increase your shipping bill.

right i put my order in for 1700 euros worth of gear.

but i got a mail from them saying this:
Sorry but we would need card confirmation as the amount is high, please can you fax or email a copy of the card (front and back) with signature and the header from a card statement as this shows the name and details to which it is registerd, your order has been put on hold. Please send fax to Kai 0049 9546 9223 24 including your customer number. Thank you

    is this common practice?

I think it is common with them but I wouldn't do it, tbh. As long as they have your number and cvc code they can ring through to their credit card company and get a name and address check to confirm it's being sent to the cardholders address. If you fax off all that stuff to them, anyone who gets it has enough to make purchases on your card. It's just not very secure for you (but very secure for them).

What did you go for anyway?

    0.

Tell them to trust you and if they don't, get a Custom off www.Chrisguitars.com for the same money

k i sent them my details (my dad didn't mind his credit card + he deals a lot in germany and he kinda knew he'd be asked for this).

now at the moment i totally skint guess the reason why, but at the moment i have a small 15watt peavy rage158 amp. just wondering is this a good amp? i guess it isn't as i think i only paid 90 euros for it second hand. will this keep me going until i find a better amp for my new guitar.

now i know guitars for a while but amps to me are a completely different ball game

Go with Thomann again. Get maybe a Line6 SpiderII 112. Lovely amps and work well with any pedals you'll use really.

And if you're looking for a great little amp, I can't recommend the Roland MicroCube enough.

just been talking to a mate in scotland and he said one of his mates is selling a marshall 130watt amp for 400 euros (cost 600 punt i think he said) would that be a good deal, i haven't settled anything with him but i want to reasearch it a bit first.

the peavey rage 158 will have to do for a bit as i'm strapped for cash
