Do you have any previous work experience? Any preferences for types of work? What have you tried so far?

From what you've told us so far you may as well try for a job in McDonalds...

i have 1 years previous work experience in dundalk college, i was mostly on hand tech support.

    from my c.v.

During my work placement in DKIT I had a variety of work experiences such as web development and ground level IT Support for many of the staff in the institute. Self management of tasks and duties played an important part in discharging my primary responsibilities each day, which also included delivery of induction training to first year students on various services available to them.My experience within the college included installing various Windows operating systems, Memory Upgrades, installing virus scanning software, setting up citrus boxes, basic routing and email server support.

1 years' support experience will stand well to you. You might look for an internal support position in a company, field tech, etc.

What does a degree in IT management entail? I'm not being smart here, but it does sound like a bit of a made up degree. :)

    i dont really know. :)

it mostly concentrated on networks with an air of absolute bull**** surrounding it. etc. How to incoporate your moda's java apps into a single server using .Net and some javabeans, so that the end result will have the end users working 5.6999% faster.

I don't think you'll have much luck finding IT work around Newry or Louth, there's very little jobs in that area around there, you're probably going to have to commute to Dublin!
