Are you part of the founding fathers of this boston? I was talking to Shane this morning, he had a Comedy Soc t-shirt on already.

btw you know theres been several comedy societies in the past, all of which ended in being closed due to poor management.

Anyone not know shane? Got a splendiferous text off him tonight saying how the qbar sells bavaria on tap (i've a feeling he was so overjoyed he texted everyone he could)

this is the comedy soc thread, everyone is joking, even when they are serious

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,523 ✭✭✭ApeXaviour

They're gonna be selling it in most pubs around the country soon on tap. 3euro a pint. Pubs are all up for it cos they have to charge loads for their diageo drinks, u'v seen the official dispute stickers over some taps in pubs no doubt..

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,135 ✭✭✭✭John

Hmm, can't remember the last time I went for a drink in a pub.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,523 ✭✭✭ApeXaviour

I was in the porter-house last nite. Great pub when u have money. I had none so sat there sober. Thence off to clontarf to beg to get into barcode. Afterwards back to a mates gaf for shorts and guitar.. I'm still in bed actually

    you damn right im not!!!!!!!
Any one off these so called jokers attempts to even think of sayin a word to me they are in for an ear load and them some
THis place is so ****ed up with reguards to the politics dictating what we should do, and not leave in down to the ordinary folk of which most of us are.
This place needs a serious change and i not quite sure how but when i do copious amount of fire may be involved .Some people call that arseni call it change.Serioulsy it aint on a new order is required fast.( my first rant in over a month miss me people???)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,314 ✭✭✭Nietzschean

did we miss the ranting...uhhh tbh i never noticed u'd left, maybe just the posts were a little easier on my eye's first thing in the morning...........

ah maybe they had a better proposal, no point in acting like a child unless u find out all the facts first.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 137 ✭✭celingfan

They just wanted it work. They applied three times in the space of 12 months to two different csc comittee's. They put work into presnetation and made comittments. Also this year around there where no players, no hist and no phil on the csc.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,626 ✭✭✭Stargal

so this year around there where no players, no hist and no phil on the csc.

Not true. The treasurer of the Phil is on Exec, plus the Secretary is (was?) involved in Players. And there's an election at the TGM next Tuesday for a new Treasurer and possibly Amenities Officer and the Phil has put up a candidate for both.

But there's a lot more of the smaller and more diverse societies represented on exec this year which is always a good thing

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 17,163 ✭✭✭✭Boston

well the Secretary is more of a gamer then a player. and the phil didn't do to well and lost in both elections.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,626 ✭✭✭Stargal

Sounds like you're thinking of Colm (newly elected Treasurer, was Amenities). He was head of Gamers last year. The secretary is def involved in Players.

The vote was v close for Treasurer actually - The Phil lad did a great speech, only just losing out. Maybe there was a smidgen of truth in the TN article after all...

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 17,163 ✭✭✭✭Boston

If your talking about renee, then shes a gamer as well as a player, I know who colm is. As for the vote being close, well what I heard was that it was the phil against everyone else. I'll post the results if I can get them again. Oh and yea there was every truth in the article, especial the scum on the backside of trinity comment.

Off-topic, but the porter-house is a great place. I've got a bet with a friend on which one of us can drink all 198 or their beers first, don't have a f***ing clue how I'm going to afford it though, I figure all of them together would come up to more than a grand (it's a long-term bet). If I manage to get this PCAM bursary, though.......

Getting a bit bogged down here but Emily is the Secretary and she's from Players - Renee is one of the 8 ordinary members... Gloiben...

And the vote for Treasurer was pretty close - Mark Lally got 21 to Colm Brophy's 28 I think. Amenities was not so close - Paddy Cosgrave got 13, Tom Asquith got around 36. Mark gave a fantastic speech, but neither Paddy nor Tom were particularly inspiring

Although Tom was hilarious today at the CSC introductory meeting/training day. He seems like a nice guy.

Not sure how to do the quote thing (don't tell me it's probably embarrassingly simple) but:
'Also this year around there where no players, no hist and no phil on the csc.'

Why do you think they care?
    Or have ever cared?
    I'm just curious.

So that means you're either Mark Lally, Colm Brophy, Paddy Cosgrave or Tom Asquith (I also have to much time on my hands).

    You probably know stargal

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,135 ✭✭✭✭John
