Ok i posted here a few weeks back about starting a martial art.. i was going to start going to two kings mma in tallaght but i managed to find a new job and have been training for the last 3 weeks...

when i finish training i will be working sun-wed, 10.30am-9pm,, so this rules two kings out.. so i need a to find somewhere that trains either thurs/fri/sat night/sun..(do a course on saturdays)

I'm looking to improve fitness and to learn self defense.. i want to be completely confident that i am able to defend myself...

so does anyone have any suggestions on what to do and when it is...

looking for dublin area, southside/citycentre/north inner city... i'd probably go as far as the blanch area..

    any clues??
    thanks. ;)

Since you cant come join us at two kings then Id suggest heading to John Kavanagh in Harolds Cross.

John is the highest ranking BJJ instructor in Ireland. John also is responsible for SBG Ireland- easily the most successful team in MMA and Submission Grappling in Ireland.

John is really sound and his guys train the same way as we do in two kings. He also taught our coach Colm everything he knows :D . There are two MMA classes on Thursday night and BJJ on friday. There is also thai boxing and freestyle wrestling taught there by excellent instructors!

    Straight Blast Gym Ireland

Hope to see you on the mats!

Also you could try Bridgestone Muay Thai which is located off Dorset St.

Just to add to Columok's post:

irishbjj.com is now changed to www.sbgireland.com.

John coaches an intro program now on Mon and Thurs from 7-8. If you want you could train with us in UCD from 5 and then scoot over to Harold's X for the 7 session until you get through the intro course.

Another training opp for Sunday is Hercules Wrestling Club on Lurgan st. I think they train at 11am.

    Oh and by the way...
He also taught our coach Colm everything he knows

I've more Greco than Kav ;)

    Hope this helps
    Colm
