i was at gig last nite and i want to customise my bass like the way their bassist did! on the fretboard where the dots are (dont know what they're called!) he has red led's. so when it was dark at this gig all you can see is a glowing red fretboard! does anybody know how to do this or is there a set of those led's you can buy?

Woah just re read that, I know a guy got this done (But in the Bass Centre London sadly), there lenses replacing the inlays and there powered with a laser and fibre optic cable running up to the lenses.
It was expensive as far as I know.

You can buy a set of LED's which stick to the side of the neck, with the battery behind the headstock, which isn't going to last too long. Or else you can have your fretboard removed, routed and reinstalled, which will cost you a fortune. Or you can buy a bass with them installed during manufacture, such as the custom Warwick that the gimp from Limp Limplim plays... but you better start saving now.

    Looks sad to me

Easy to do when you're building a guitar. Not so easy to do to a made neck.

I was at the Marshall Roadshow in the TBMC a year or two ago and the bassist on the night had a Warwick with red LED's in the frets. It looks a lot better than you would think. Still a bit gimmicky though. Prefer my Warwicks original and well, mine. Damn poverty!
