when i started school they said i had 1,000 dollars over what i needed and they gave it to me for books. they sent me a letter on saturday saying i owe 3,000 by thursday (only 5 days!). i'm paying for college myself, my family refuses to help. so it's all on me. i really like my school a lot, despite this recent bull ****. i have loans in my name and i had a co-signer, but it was a bitch getting someone to do that. no one is helping me and i don't know what to do!

    my dad help at all
my mom never gave me a dime, and if i told her about this she wouldn't even send a nickel

no one will help. please someone guide me in the right direction!

go to the students union, they are your personal A-team ,

just don't call hte person behind the desk Hannibal.

    good luck with that now.

And it doesn'tmatter if the college want the money in five days or 500 days , they will only get the money when you have it , and if they get rid of you they will never get the money and their books won't balance and blah blah .... your grand.goto students union.

Yep, what he said, go to the students union.

Also, (most ?) colleges have a system for hardship cases, they may agree to waive the fees or even get you on the grant.

The students union will help you out.

p.s. shouldn't you be protesting at the spire this morning ?

Somehow, I doubt it, Gurgle heh.
You might get different advice on a US forum, damntheman, this is an Irish bulletin board so advice will be mainly centered/based on Irish experiences and systems.

Go to the business/ financial office immediately. If you have copies of anything-- receipts-- take them with you. Take the letter you received with you. Explain that its their mistake. They gave you the refund that you spent on books.
Do you take the maximum amount allowed for student loans? Check on that. Explain your situation, that there is no one else to help you. Basically leave it on their doorstep, how will they help you? They may "find" funds that they haven't mentioned before. (Often there are scholarships available that they don't mention). Remind them that you'll have to default on your loan repayment if you have to drop out---( they don't want this to happen.) Good Luck.
