Giorgio Pantano’s manager has threatened legal action over Jordan's decision to release the Italian.

Jordan announced before the Chinese GP that Timo Glock would be taking Pantano’s place with immediate effect.

Lars-Christian Brask said the team was in breach of contract.

He said: “My first thought is to say ‘No comments’ – but it wouldn’t be fair to our operation, professionalism and the facts.

“The facts are that a contract and agreements have been broken.

I prefer to solve issues like this commercially, but in this case it is a complex situation and all the facts are not obvious to the public.

“The most likely outcome is that we have to go through the courts to protect our investment and our driver’s rights.

“We are preparing our case at the moment and I think it is best to rest the comments with that.”

Pantano has endured a troubled season with Jordan. He has failed to score a point and has been outpaced by team-mate Nick Heidfeld.

The Italian was left out of the car at the Canadian GP in June due to a contractual dispute – and Glock, who took his place, scored two points.

He damn well deserved to be sacked. Even firman scored a point for gods sake! I've been saying all season sack pantano, give glock a race seat. Eddie did the right thing, though i'll just say this... SHOULDN'T HAVE FIRED FRENTZEN! That was the beginning of the downward spiral. By the start of the next season, deutsche post, dhl and some other german sponsor pulled out.

Aye, Frentzen was a woeful decision. Get Glock tied down to Jordan for a few years, build some frickin' consistency within the team!

Consistency would be nice...But I cant see Jordan lasting past next season , to be honest Jordan getting to the grid next season is looking like its going to need a miracle.

What sad times are these... Hard to believe that 5 years ago they were contending for the drivers title with 3 races to go. I believe their shining moment was when frentzen won at monza, then went out 2 weeks later like a challenger for the title, got pole and drove like a b*st*rd until his car gave out. Great bit on the season video where he's in his car and says "Germans are better drivers...hahaha!"

Just to add another nail in the Jordan coffin..Toyota are rumoured to have said that it is too late now for them to supply other teams with an engine...

First of all he is crap......... Drivers like him should be given a rooling contract where if he is not performing he can be booted out.......i dont even know how he got it in the first place,when there are the likes of luca badoer in a test car at ferrari....i mean the man is itching for a drive,he must be there next year,he is a great driver who just needs a car so he can show what he is made of!
