what are the muscles required for faster sprinting
hamstring is usually the muscle you pull from sprinting so i would have thought that is the main one but i need some confirmation, also
i heard that the speed you move your arms at determines how fast your legs will move, sounds odd :E

    thx in advance ;)

Sprinting requires the upper and lower body to be as strong as each other I have heard.

oh and for sport-specific weight training you should try to imitate the movement you will be doing while performing the sport as closely as possible. In particular, you perform the exercises quickly, in order to build the sort of muscle you will be using in the sport, and not slow twitch muscles which will probably just slow you down in your case!
Be careful doing weights quickly you can put more stress on your joints. Don't "bounce" during squats in particular.

The primary movers in sprinting are the Glutes and the quads. The hamstring pulls because it is weak relative to the quad (front of thigh). It is not lack of flexibility, as so many think. The delts (shoulders) are the primary movers in your upper body, and you need a rigid, strong core for fast sprinting.
