    Hey all,

    Just a quick post to ask a question bought an Ipod mini but now have a quick question

    The availible memory on it is 3.75GB how come its not 4 GB as advertised..?

    If anybody has any ideas can they please left me know

    PS can this thread not be turned into a slating of the iPod or the iRiver is better as there are other threads that have discussed these

    1GB to manufacturers is 1000mb, but we all know 1 GB is really 1024mb

    same with PC hard drives, 120Gb = 114 or something like that

    life is a bitch, then you die.

    right click on it in my computer and choose properties, you should see it listed as 4,000,000,000 bytes there. which is every hard drive manufacturers idea of 4GB
    mathematically they'd right of course, but you still can't help felling ripped off :confused:

    guys my parents are off to new york shortly and i think im gonna talk them into buying me an ipod while they are out there as i know theyre much cheaper over there!

    which should i go for? i dont really need the 40gb one, oh.. and is their any problems using it here in ireland?
    where would they buy it? ect ect

    there is an apple store in new york i think the only 1 actually run by apple although i know they are building one in london, anywho just get the 20gb one if u feel the 40gb is too big and no problems using them in ireland apples cover is the same around the world(****e), just be better charging it off firewire

    the 40gig one is only 320 euros if bought in america so i'm gonna buy one when i'm over there for that price compared to here like something has to be up?

    right, whats all the hassle about battery life? and how much is it to replace them, how long do they usually last?

    would it be wise to buy the ipod protection plan? can u do it back in ireland when its brought back home from america or do u have to do it when u buy it
