Being John Malocvich

    First off: Wow.

This is one of the strangest films I have seen in a long long time. The basic story is that a puppeteer finds a portal into John Malocvichs head and can see, feel and hear everything he can.

It took me about 20 minutes that Carmon Diaz was in the film - she looked beat down (which re-enforces my view that most so called beautiful women are only beautiful 'cause they have access to better hairdressers, makeup and clothes).

This is a film that you are going to have to have your brain on for but it is well worth it.

This was absolutely fantastic!! The central plot device - the portal into Malcovich's head, works brilliantly - and the script is absolutely hilarious. Most original thing I've seen in years - give your brain a treat and go see it smile.gif

first time I've ever seen a film made about a present day acting figure.

now if I can just find that portal into a bank manager's head... smile.gif

Saw it on the plane on the way over, and wasn't that impressed. Actually, no, I was impressed but didn't enjoy it as much as I thought I would.
The idea was excellent, it's got some great touches, but it just all rushed along and got a wee bit lost. The film equivalent of someone trying to speed-speak a great idea because they're afraid it'll lose your attention if it takes too long.

Then again little plane screens are not the best places to enjoy a movie.

Sorry to be the voice of dissent (again), but I thought it was too long, boring, not very funny at all (I laughed only once during it, at the "Shut up you overrated sack of sh1t!" line) and generally tried too hard to be arty and different, ending up not being very entertaining.

Yes, it's something that hasn't been done before. Then again, maybe it wasn't done before for a good reason....

Go see The Insider instead - excellent film, a little long, but very, very entertaining and quite thought provoking.

    Ja,
    Rob
