    Hi,
I just got here in Dublin and will go to Dublin City Uni in September for post graduate study.
I was wondering if anyone knows where or how I can find Korean companies in Ireland, it could be part of my projects..
I saw some korean cars and electronics but haven't seen any companies yet..maybe it's because I only went to Dublin City center..

    thanks

    Hyun

You will probably find all the famous ones certainly have offices here. Like Samsung for example. Should be in the phone book. But they are probably going to have Irish employees.

Korean Air is above Game at Trinity Collage (not Grafton Street, one parallel). They certainly speak Korean there. Other then that the Embassy may know.

Thanks, I am actually looking for them for my project purpose but I maybe I can get a part time job?

    thanks again!

Odds on any Korean company here is not going to have many if any Korean speakers in it. Unless you are talking about visa reasons? AFAIK if your visa does not allow you to work, then you can't work for any company here.

Although I am pretty sure student visas allow you to work? (Not sure).

I have been in Dublin for 3weeks so far and I live close to my school which is called Santry road. My aprtment is new and has 3bedrooms and one old housemate who always starts chocking and coughing for 20minutes every morning and THAT wakes me up with not very good mood at all..
so I am thinking about moving to another place also close to school and has internet connection..
well, there's nothing to read about above anyways,, apologies!!!

Does anybody know how much a used scooter will cost?
any recomends about used bike shops? my bike broke the other day and thinking about getting a scooter instead..
maybe it's not a good idea to have a scooter in Dublin? too many rainy days?

    thanks~

    Hi again,

To answer some of your questions. :)

"so I am thinking about moving to another place also close to school and has internet connection"

    Try these places to look...
    http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=144568
    http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=39308

A lot of people I know use http://www.daft.ie though.

"Does anybody know how much a used scooter will cost?"
One place to start -> http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/forumdisplay.php?f=47

That link should cover insurance and other things you may need to know.

Santry is near the Omniplex and I am pretty sure there is a bicycle shop there. If not there should be one at Northside shopping center which is near you as well (depending where on Santry road you are I guess?).

Scooter is probably better, despite the weather but more expensive.

"any ideas? looks like we need more people to join.."

Boards.ie host get togethers/parties from time to time. I've been to a few and you meet all sorts there but generally a good laugh (when they tell you where they are hiding -_-; ).

I probably won't make any of the boards meetings any time soon, however you are not living that far from myself and Frany. So I'll talk to her and see.

Recently the two-way trade between Korea and Ireland has continued to be on the rise with its trade volume amounting to 1.32 billion US dollars in 2001. Several Korean companies have successfully engaged in business in Ireland. Products made in Korea have enjoyed a good reputation for quality in Ireland, with exports of semi-conductors, computer-related components, automobiles, electronics and machineries on the continuous increase.

In the light of the size of the Irish economy and market and its geo-political location as a bridgehead to the EU market, the joint ventures and economic co-operation between the two countries will continue to further expand in the years ahead.

Welcome once again to the home page of the Korean Embassy in Ireland. We wish this home page to be helpful to you. If you have any questions on its contents, the activities of the Embassy or about Ireland, please feel free to ask your questions by E-mail, facimile, or through the relevant section of this homepage.
