Hobbes - I was asking this earlier - which do you recommend? There's 3rd party extensions that seperatley do the mailto and notify vs. Google's own? I'm not a fan of toolbars generally hence I avoided google's own, but is it better?

Well I did use the Firefox one and PGtGM which were pretty cool. However gmail is still beta so they are changing the protocol from time to time. At one point nothing worked at all for a while, so I installed the toolbar.

Googles one works fine. It only notifies of you of new mail if it isn't automatically set to skip the inbox. Other then that, its much the same.
