W5 Belfast -an amazing day out

Not often that I'd be raving about something to do with the kids, but spent the day yesterday at W5 in the Oddessy in Belfast. Family pass (2 adults/2 kids all day - you can go in and out ) £17, vey good value. We brought a 3 year old and a 5 year old and could have spent at least 5 hours there, we had only arrived at 3 and it closes a 6 so we didn't get to do all we wanted.

It's so hands on, a dedicated space for under 8's, where they can build a house (complete with mini crane, tiles, bricks etc), great wet area, with bubbles, boats etc. A mini tv studio where they can play music and seem themselves on tv.

The science behind eveything is explained but you can focus on this as much or as little as the kids can handle.

Saw lots of kids in the 10-14 age group that seemed to be having a ball too - so there is a fair bit that appeals to all ages. And the best part is the dads and mams can join in too and try out everything as well.

yep its a great place. Probably the best thing in the Odyssey in Belfast.

if your kids where a wee bit older you could have taken then to see the Belfast Giants aswell.

The only down side about the Odyssey is that its expensive to buy food.

We saw the Giants too! You're right it was probably a bit much for the 3 year old, but the 5 year couldn't get enough, loved all the music and the dancing! The 3 year old loved when the guys smashed into the screens beside us
They didn't seem to notice that "their" team lost and my 5 year old wanted to know what countries were playing!!!!

Next time I'll just do one or the other too much to do both in the one day

We went to the Tapas bar in the main centre for food and found it reasonable enough (well compared to Dublin prices anyway)
