The Ic7-max3 is the best you can get. Simple as.

Just looking at some reviews... Theres not much between the Ic7, Ic7G n the max 3. Unless ur using top end cooling the max 3 just seems like a bit of a waste to me. Id go for the Ic7 but its short on a few extras. The Ic7G seems to be the best value for money, being just under €40 cheaper than the Max3.....

AFAIK the IC7 has 2xSATA ports, the IC7-G has 4, IC7-Max3 has 6. The voltage seems to go a good bit higher on the Max3 over the other two, think the Ram goes to 3.2v as apposed to 2.8 on the regular ones. The max3 also has the OTES cooling for the mosfets, which will come in very handy if you are using a prescott (as some boards have been killed by highly overclocked prescotts due to the ammount of power they use).

The OTES cooling should be variable speed .

Id definetly be looking at an IC7, but the DFI boards are also supposed to be fantastic.

    Is your other board ok?

Yes I have, I am a serial mobo killer... I turned it on the other morn only it wouldn't turn on. AND this time i hadm't been fiddling with the bios r anything like that. It was on through the nite before tho, is it possible for some one to hack in to ur pc n place a virus that wipes the bios??? I had my firewall down that nite....

As for mobos, the DFI's r bloody expensive... Looking to get another Lan Party but finding a cheap ones the problem.

    The ultimate Question....

    A DFI Lanparty r a MAX 3??????????/

Im in favour of the Lan party, found it for cheaper than the max 3 n it comes with a better package...

It doesn't perform as well as the max-3 or the Asus and isn't as good for overclocking either. Looks nice with uv though.

Don't rule out the 865 Springdale based models. The top Springdale offerings from Asus and Abit have a lotta bang for your buck and there wouldn't be too much between them and the Canterwood models if you wanna save a few quid. Around €105-110 for the Springdale models judging by OCUK's site, that's at least €50-60 less than the Canterwoods. That saving could go on the new case you said you were planning on getting, or some other component.
