Plus, opening on both nights are San Francisco four-piece Alien Crime Syndicate.

"’The Heat’ is all genuine passion, brimming with energy, anger and great tunes sandwiched between the dense guitars. Malin is a fearless storyteller, too, picking at the scabs of New York's seamy underbelly" - UNCUT (5 stars)

TOMMY STINSON has just been confirmed as Special Guest for New Yorker, Jesse Malin’s two Irish dates next week.

Tommy plays in the current line-up of Guns N’ Roses (he’s written a percentage of the material on the record that should be released next year), and was in the brilliant cult indie band, The Replacements with Paul Westerberg.

Tommy sings on ‘Hotel Columbia’ on Jesse’s ‘The Heat’ and has just released his new solo album ‘Village Gorilla Head’ is out now on Sanctuary Records.

“Village Gorilla Head is like a romp through rock history with various ports of call - from a Dylanesque sneer to a George Harrison melodic detour to a blast of New York Dolls street punk. At its heart are chugging, world-weary rockers to delight fans of Ryan Adams and Jesse Malin, and neat turns of phrase such as ‘You were hanging on for life but not hanging on to me’.“ – The Guardian.

Having previewed his brand new album, ‘The Heat’ here with two truly memorable rock ‘n’ roll shows in May, JESSE MALIN returns to Ireland with his full band next week to play the first shows here since the album’s release.

He brings ‘The Heat’ September Tour of the UK & Ireland to The Limelight in Belfast next Thursday, September 23rd and to The Village in Dublin next Friday night, September 24th.

A regular visitor to Ireland with an ever-increasing fanbase, Jesse also appeared with the Counting Crows at their three sell-out dates at Dublin’s Olympia Theatre earlier this year.

An appearance at T in the Park in Scotland during the summer saw Jesse joined on-stage by Shane MacGowan for Jesse’s now classic version of Elvis Costello’s ‘Oliver’s Army’.

Jesse’s second solo album, ‘The Heat’ was released in June and was preceded by the brilliant single, ‘Mona Lisa’ (on which Shane MacGowan also gets a mention!).

Malin recorded the album in his native New York City and enlisted Ryan Adams to guest ("He plays a great lead guitar") along with Pete Yorn, Fountains of Wayne guitarist, Jody Porter and former Smashing Pumpkin, James Iha, who co-owns the Stratosphere studio where the album was recorded.

‘The Heat’ is the follow-up to Jesse’s Ryan Adams-produced debut solo album, ‘The Fine Art of Self Construction’ (the only album Ryan has chosen to produce so far – he also features on guitar on the title track).

The new album finds Malin backed by his touring band, a working relationship that had clicked so well on the road that he wanted to bring that sound to the album. "I wanted to make more of a sonic record, a band record," he told Rolling Stone.

"We just played like we do live without ever going too metal or screamo. We've been doing this almost three years, and some of these songs have already been worked out on stage. I like to road test material and get stuff dirty for people before recording it."
